Professional Piano Tuning & Pitch Correction
An acoustic piano is under immense structural tension. Changes in Georgia’s seasonal humidity cause the soundboard to expand and contract, pulling the strings out of tune.
Using professional tuning levers and precision techniques, I adjust each individual tuning pin back to standard concert pitch (A440). If your piano is significantly flat because it hasn’t been serviced in a while, a standard tuning isn’t enough. It requires a pitch raise (pre-tuning) to stabilize the massive tension before the final fine-tuning can happen. While most tuners charge an extra $50 to $100 for this step, I include pitch raises completely free with my flat-rate tuning.
